About us

Hellenic IT Museum®, the only IT Museum in Southeast Europe, started its operations in 2008 and since 2012 the Museum constitutes the first official Greek organization that exclusively exhibits the IT history timeline from 1970 to mid-90s.

It is a project based on the donation of computers, software and other IT items, which are donated by individuals, public and private organizations, and educational institutions.

Our unique collection, the most extensive and comprehensive in Greece, consists more of than 280 personal computers and 5100 other items, providing its visitors a unique trip to the technological past.


Why an IT Museum?

Our life is full of technology. The technological products of today are the discovery of yesterday and the retro innovation of tomorrow. At the Hellenic IT Museum, we saw a fantastic opportunity to emerge through the rapid evolution in the field of Information Technology: the opportunity to highlight the importance of technological progress that lead to a fully digital present and contribute to an unexpected technological future. That's why we decided to create the Hellenic IT Museum. Our goal is to gather and share knowledge about the history of IT.

The team of Hellenic IT Museum (H.IT.M.) is composed of people who love technology and have a passion for the history of Information Technology. What keeps us most is the appetite for knowledge and creation!

Legal status of the Museum

The Museum has the legal status of non-profit corporation with name Hellenic IT Museum, approved by the Court of First Instance of Athens (AK 1428/2012). Also registered in the General Electronic Commercial Registry (G.E.MI.) with registration number 127295001000. The logo of Museum is registered in the General Secretariat of Commerce.
